If you need help, please go to the Joseph House Crisis Center. Assistance is not given at the convent of the Little Sisters.
The Joseph House Crisis Center is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to noon. It is located at 812 Boundary Street, Salisbury, Maryland. The phone number is 410-749-4239.
If you need Cash Assistance, please arrive by 8:00 a.m. to draw a number for a lottery that determines the order in which clients will be seen. We cannot accept appointments.
You need to bring a photo I.D. and proof of your income and expenses. This means pay stubs, benefit letters, bills, and receipts.
To receive rental assistance, a court-ordered eviction notice is required. To receive help with a utility bill, a cut-off notice is required. You may be referred to another agency if that agency has funds to help you. The Joseph House is for people who have no other options.
Families with dependent children need to bring a denial slip from the Department of Social Services.
The Dining Room at the Crisis Center serves a hot meal between 10:30 a.m. and noon every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The meals are available for anyone.
The Food Pantry at the Crisis Center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If you need help from the Food Pantry, please bring a photo I.D., proof of your income, and a Social Security card for every member of your household.
The Hospitality Room at the Crisis Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is only for men and women who are homeless.
Men who are homeless who wish to enter the Joseph House Workshop can speak with a Hospitality Room volunteer at the Crisis Center.
